Action Item #2: Develop Guidelines for Externship/Internship Program
Need to design an internship/externship program.
Don Lowe, Customer Engineering Manager for GTE Network Services, has agreed to work with Professor Ed Lynch to design a multifaceted program for Oxnard College Cisco Networking students, proposed ideas:
1. Jobsite ride along with GTE Networking Engineer
2. Contract jobs (Working with GTE vendors)
3. Employment, Temporary jobs
Action Item #3: How to Gain Work Experience
1. Volunteer to work on projects
MARKETING NetTEAM
Action Item #1: Develop Plan
1. Develop a flexible, standardized plan which will assist in selecting projects, allocating donated funds, etc.
Action Item #2: Fund Raising
1. Decide how this will be done. (Lupe will chair a committee for this to ensure we are in compliance with 501(c)3)
Action Item #3: Public Relations
1. Decide how this will be done. (by committee, invite Lupe to participate, ?)

Topic 2: Status of Projects

Hueneme Christian School - Job Coordinator: Chou Lum choulum@aol.com Have identified requirements, completed layout and pricing information. Waiting for allocation of funds. Should begin work around end of March. St. Anthony's - 2421 South "A" St., Oxnard - Job Coordinator: Sandy Ferguson sandyferg@aol.com Have identified requirements, completed layout. Interior wiring will be done 03/05/99 9:00 a.m. Please contact Sandy if you wish to participate. Guadalupe on Juanita At investigation stage. Looking for job coordinator. Topic 3: Sources for donations

COORDINATOR: Lupe Anguiano
It is proposed that in addition to soliciting funds through private sources, we could benefit by becoming volunteers to the National NetDay2000 program. Lupe has been in contact with the State representative for NetDay, and found that the Cisco Network Academy Students enjoy a great reputation with them. Anyone interested in obtaining more information about NetDay2000 can visit their website.
